The Challenge

Australia’s mining industry is one of the largest exporters of coal and iron and other resources. Continually focussing on improving ways of working enhances their ability to mine and export to maximise value.

EPiC was engaged to work with one of the largest mining companies to create their first Coal Digital Factory.

This work consisted of the set up of the factories from a “concept” to an effective way to manage Coal Digital factory projects effectively.

Our Solution

• EPIC worked closely with the Sponsors to set up the factories in alignment with the vision and roadmaps.
• Heavy focus on Objectives, Key Results and Metrics drove the work with the formation of sticky teams to deliver the specific factory focussed. There was a commitment to have dedicated Product Owners and Scrum Masters to each factory which ensure a laser focus on vision, strategy and execution. Chapters were spun-up to support the Product Owners and Scrum Masters, and Guilds supported solving problems that all factories faced. This drove ownership and accountability to the teams to drive improvements.
