Agile is one tool in a toolkit

Forward-thinking organizations have realized that with the changing pace of today’s world, where we’re seeing government policy change moment by moment, where they used to be set in stone and not change without an act of parliament, over many months, if not years has now been turned on its head post COVID. There are organizations out there that are now staring down the barrel of rapidly changing government policy, that makes quite a substantial difference to their industry and they need to take advantage of that.

There are so many ways to achieve that, without implementing a brand new framework that nobody understands, a new language and Agile is one tool in a toolkit but it’s not the only tool. Not everything is a nail and that’s the hammer. Look for what you’re trying to achieve and then bring the right technique, the right practice, the right discipline to bear to make that work. That’s where you’ll find the difference between Business Agility and Agile.

Agile and planning has never delivered one single thing of value. These things do not deliver value. People do. These are just ways we work, so if you want to really improve the performance of an organization, Agile is just a tool just like anything else. The people are what is going to make that happen.
